The Roland MDX-20 3D Milling Machine is currently being set up and tested for use in the upcoming FabLab to be located on the fourth floor of the Fine Arts Building at FSU.
Easy-to-use and compatible with many popular 3D CAD software programs, the MDX-20/15 is an affordable, all-in-one scanning and milling device, perfect for a variety of product design tasks, from model and jewelry making to molds, rapid prototyping, small lot production and package design. Use it to test and modify your designs, reducing errors, time and cost.
The MDX-20 has an operable milling area of 8″ (x) by 6″ (y) by 2 3/8″ (z).
It is also a 3D scanner capable of imaging objects from at a resolution from 5.00 mm up to 0.05 mm, and can export the scan in a number of file formats including DXF, VRML, STL, 3DMF, IGES, Grayscale, Point Group and BMP.
